Facebook Inc (FB) Shows Massive Growth In Africa
The social media giant has showed great strengths in the African market in the past few months which is being taken quite positively by the analysts in the industry.
Recent news about social media giant Facebook Inc shows that the firm has been performing quite well in countries like India and Africa, which shows that all the strategies and techniques that are being tried out by the giant in order to make its mart in the emerging markets are working out just fine. A recent report that was released on Thursday showed that only in Africa, the firm has been seeing a massive growth in the user base with the users going up to numbers like 15 million in a very limited period of time. These statistics were taken out as of the data available for June 30 in the Nigerian state, whereas a similar report was published by the Reuters which showed that in the state of Kenya, the monthly active users had actually come around to be 4.5 million, a number which should make the rivals of the media giant worry. The firm has reportedly been focusing on making new apps and software for the usage of mobile and especially for smart phone owners and even though all these changes are initially focused on the market in the United States, analysts believe that this is also working efficiently for the users in Africa as majority of them used the social media network on their mobile phones. The Facebook Lite version of the app is another project of the giant that has made the analysts believe that the main reason so much success is being enjoyed by the firm in Africa and India is that they can now have access to the social media site through Lite which lets them see and communicate with their friends through messages while using internet space in the lowest forms. As per a research made by the analysts at Tech Crunch, it was also noted that the first time Facebook business launched the Lite app was in June of the current year and was right away launched in the emerging markets of Africa and India, in order to test the app in areas where it was deemed as the most useful. The fact that the African and Indian smart phone market is growing on a massive level has turned out to be much of a good news for the social media giant which means that the more the demand for smart phone grows, the more the firm can take advantage from it by making its app open to more users than before, with the user base growing at an alarming rate.

Facebook Opens Mentions App For All Verified Accounts
The social media giant has made important upgrades in the Mentions app, which is being taken as quite a positive step by the analysts.
Facebook has recently announced that it has decided to make the Mentions app available for all the accounts on the social media site which have been verified by the management.
This update is being considered as quite a big one coming from the media firm as the live streaming video service was only offered to some of the verified accounts and not all of them, which was first taken a little bearishly by the analysts who thought that in order to make things the same for all the celebrities and huge personalities, it was important for the firm to make things equal to everyone. This app was released by the giant last year which ended up getting quite popular among the celebrities who used the service to speak and communicate with their fans on the media site, making it easier for things to get through from one person to another on much easier levels. This step from Facebook business is also being taken as an initiative to stay upfront in the industry as many other prominent giants are focusing on video streaming and taking measures to bring positive changes to the whole idea. Mentions app also helped the important personalities with verified accounts to make videos especially for the fans and to also chat with them with the help of live streaming. On the other hand, the media app also worked in the favor of celebrities, important politicians and musicians who could keep an organized track on how things were going on between them and their fans which made it easier to bring both the parties on the same level. Analysts, moreover, are of the opinion that if only all the right steps are being taken by the social media giant it is quite possible that things take a positive turn into the streaming video industry for the giant. The app is currently reaching out more people than it was before and analysts think that with the help of the new audience, the firm can actually end up earning more revenue than before. Facebook also seems to be making attempts to leave behind all the other media or networking companies which have slowly been emerging on the tech horizon, and to make sure that things stay in control of the giant and the competition does not falter the media firm in any way. This app is also available to journalists now who can use it to exhibit the work that is being done by them.

Is Facebook Hitting YouTube Hard With Streaming of Free TV Channels?
The social media giant seems to be quite serious about making a mark in the video streaming world as it releases app which will show free channels on streaming to users.
Facebook has recently announced that it will be launching its own TV services app which is sure to give a tough time to Google’s YouTube business, something that the search engine giant has something to worry now. The social media giant has made sure that around 400 channels are provided to the users of the social network which they can view through streaming.
The app that has been launched by the media company will be working in such a way that all the different videos from all over the internet will be collected and will be then guided into different channels. These channels will then be provided to the users which are active on the media firm’s website. Even though there are some important shows on the premium level like Game of Thrones and other games like that which the users will not be able to watch, there will be other video content available on the site which will prove as a good source of entertainment for them.
Furthermore, it should be taken into consideration how the firm has acquired Rabbit TV, which is a company that offers videos through a streaming system with particular subscription charges. The Rabbit TV Plus is also offers a premium service to the users in only a price of $10 for one year. Through this subscription, the users can then have access to a big number of radio channels, found all over the networking base.
Analysts are of the opinion that Facebook business has taken steps to go ahead and buy the services available by Rabbit TV but through this idea, the social networking giant will not be receiving much profit, making it look like a dead end to earn more revenue. However, the fact that this will let the media firm to engage its users in more activities on the media site than usual has been taken quite seriously by the company and it looks like users will be spending more time on the social media platform than before, only because of the excessively available free videos.
Videos have always been the ultimate aim that Facebook has wanted to reach on the social media site and the recent venture just shows how important the whole video streaming factor is for the company. The first time it released the whole video watching idea was through its acquisition Instagram on which users were first allowed to upload fifteen seconds videos on their timeline, showing things that they were doing in their daily lives.

Facebook Rolls Out a New Plan To Improve Education
The social media giant has announced that it will be working alongside Summit Schools in order to provide a new educational software to teachers and students in the US free of cost.
One of the biggest tech companies in the world, Facebook is all set to start a new project to help make attaining education on the social media a much easier process. A recent report talks about how the media company has signed a deal with Summit Schools in order to build up brand new software which will be making the classroom experience into an interesting experience for the users, by mixing it new technology.
The firm has collaborated with Summit keeping in mind how the schooling system carried out by the school has always been dominated by technology and how it has always used it spread education on a bigger scale. Summit has been using the media technology to help students reach out to lectures and tests of all kinds on the internet and this is what has inspired the social media firm to start a project with it.
Now for the collaboration, report says that by working side by side with Summit, Facebook business will be working towards providing a new software to the schools in the country and to the students which will be making their learning experience a much improved one. Furthermore, the software which will be built by the media firm will be made available to all the institutions which will be able to get them more information and content to teach to the children of their schools.
Following the deal made between the two parties, Facebook has also made sure that the Personalized Learning Plan that Summit is famous for carrying out, gets improved to greater levels and reports also say the school’s tech program has helped around 2,000 students to obtain desired knowledge and also around a hundred teachers, who have taken help of the PLP to improve their teaching techniques and content.
Facebook is currently looking towards making the program public to all schools in the United States of America so that education is free and easily attainable throughout the social media. Analysts in the industry are seen discussing how the social media platform is the first tech company of its kind to take an active part in spreading education to all levels and that too, for free.
On the other hand, Facebook has made sure that the PLP program can be accessed by any individual that wishes to learn without the restriction of him having an account on the media site. The firm will also be working alongside the privacy pledge for student that Summits works with, which is why the personal information of the students will be lept safe and away from even the Facebook employees.

Is Facebook Going To Win The Video War With Snapchat?
The social media giant is currently working towards making its video streaming business a better one in order to fight with rivals like Snapchat.
Facebook Inc has been working its way up since the beginning of the social media craze that took over the world more than a decade ago. The firm has managed to score better than the other giants in the industry and continues to grow till date.
The media company has always managed to beat rival Twitter Inc in terms of attracting a lot more users towards its network and has outdone itself on a lot of other levels, making sure every company knows that it has now attained the level from where it can rule the social media industry. There is hardly anything that the media firm has not achieved when it comes to beating its rivals and the recent acquisitions of Whatsapp and Instagram made by the media firm shows how it has the control to take over any small company that threatens to become influential on the general audience or tries to dominate them, which is something that Zuckerberg’s firm wishes to continue doing.
Through Instagram, Facebook has managed to continue the legacy of uploading pictures on the social media and is working hard towards growing the platform as well, by monetizing it with advertisements. When the social media platform announced that it will be taking over two new startups, namely Instagram and Whatsapp, the analysts in the industry thought that the firm will be using both the new platforms to raise more revenue but so the media company surprised them by delaying the process of monetization which led them to believe that these two projects could end up becoming huge losses for the firm. However, recent reports from the firm suggest that now it is being considered to allow the display of ads on the apps which might start pouring in some revenue into the company’s account.
Facebook business also tried to take over Snapchat at some point in time but the acquisition did not materialize. Even though the social media giant has a very successfully high rate of users coming in every day, Snapchat has managed to give the firm some tough competition too. The networking giant seems to be struggling in the video streaming business and its efforts to beat its rival seem not to be working so far.
Snapchat reported that it receives around a four billion videos on its platform almost every day which has pretty much startled the media company, as not so surprisingly, the media giant has released a similar number of videos which are uploaded on the site every other day. Snapchat has a smaller user base than Facebook but analysts believe the struggle the media company is facing has become a little too prominent to look over.

Facebook Seems to Be Serious About Safeguarding Video Owners' Content and IPs
The social media giant has announced that it will be taking all the right steps to eradicate all sorts of threats that video creators are often faced with and will make sure that their IPs are safe.
Facebook Inc only recently faced criticism and many accusations regarding the fact that the people posting their self-made videos on the social media site turned out to be not so safe, despite many promises from the media giant. Many video makers on the site showed how the video content that they put up for the users to see often ends up getting copied or hacked, which was increasing day by day and needed to be taken into consideration by the media firm. According to a news report by the Wall Street, it was confirmed that now the media giant is focusing solely on removing this threat on the site which seems to be creating such uproar from the video makers.
As per the news, Facebook management has decided to put marks or flags on the original videos posted by the people to make sure they are safe and there originality is not questioned once the content goes viral. Furthermore, the media company will also be making sure that the IPs each video has on the website is made secure so that the original work remains safe. Analysts are of the opinion that the social media networking giant is bringing about all of these changes only to come up to Google’s level and make sure that their system is as good, if not better, than YouTube which is run and owned by the search engine company.
However, despite the fact that Facebook seems to be aiming for the top and fighting on the level YouTube is currently being operated, analysts believe things are still not looking that good for the media giant. Since YouTube is working on Content ID that seems to be working quite fairly for the video streaming giant, analysts believe that the same level cannot be obtained by the social media network given the kind of tactics and technology they are using.
The social networking giant is reportedly working with two new specialists who are supposed to track the original source of the video which will make it easier for the giant to know who the content belongs to. Through this technique, the firm will be able to allow the video content owners to know whether their original work is being exhibited on some other profile or not. This search will be made to be done throughout the networking site, from pages and profiles to groups and fan sites.
The media company has taken the necessary steps in order to let the users know that it is serious about making their videos link directly back to them in case someone else is using them with their own names.
